Biella Bike Festival
A two-day festival to discover the many-faceted world of Propulsione Umana – HPV Italia, within a sport event that celebrates cycling as non-conventional sport and tourism propeller.
First, a WORKSHOP will introduce the main subjects for research and experimentation on Human Powered vehicles and devices: biomechanics, land, water and air vehicles, and static devices.
The URBAN COMMUTING race, new to Italy, will turn a vehicle into a symbol of Human Powered daily mobility, the most suitable to move about and shop. Then, the 50M SPRINT RACE will show that Human Power and technology can produce great accelerations.
A 2 HOUR-SPEED RACE, like the one scheduled here, is not merely a race. To aim for a Human Powered speed record implies a refining of creative and technical skills as well as sports skills, with results that tomorrow might make a difference on our roads.
Finally, the RANDOBIELLA randonnée brevet will join upright and recumbent bicycles, together with other innovative vehicles, showing that the best way of joining sport and tourism is on a Human Powered Vehicle, as long as it is efficient and fit for its purpose.

Rando BIELLA. 135-75 km itineraries - 200 km itinerary.
Participation with ANY kind of Human Powered Vehicle, including upright bicycles, is open - and welcome - to ALL trials.
A Propulsione Umana STAND will be open for all 3 days at Festival centre.
Test rides. Several recumbent bikes, trikes and one or more velomobiles will be available for test rides, courtesy of member owners!

The registration fee to the Propulsione Umana HPV ITALIA - 1st ITALIAN MEETING is 12 Euros.
It includes all activities in this programme except Randonnée brevets. Participants to this Meeting will have the option to register for RandoBIELLA at an additional 8 Euros only.
